Chocolate lovers from all corners of the world now have the chance to not only enjoy the most finely crafted chocolate delights during St Lucia holidays, but also to learn about the history of the island’s chocolate produce through the hotel’s iconic location in a working cocoa plantation visited by the likes of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.
For the most indulgent of chocoholic holiday experiences, the new Hotel Chocolat in St Lucia, which only opened in spring last year, is now open to welcome true choccy lovers to a sweet world of tasty delights. This rather unusual hotel accommodation in Antigua opened with the concept of indulging chocolate lovers with a unique chocolate-theme restaurant and bar with the finest in cocoa-based cuisine, with a touch of this delicious ingredient present in almost all the dishes with some form of cocoa inclusion.
Set in the grounds of a working cacao plantation, the hotel makes a direct connexion between the chocolate consumer and the source of the cocoa produce. Placing a strong focus on sustainability, the Hotel Chocolat has an input in stimulating a sor of Cocoa Renaissance and encourages other cacao growers on the island to follow suit as part of their ‘Engaged Ethics’ programme. For over 20 years, cocoa farming in St Lucia has been in decline. Hotel Chocolat has pledged to buy local cocoa at prices 40% above those previously achieved, to help stimulate the sector. So those enjoying sweet St Lucia holidays at the chocolate-themed hotel will know that they will be directly contributing to boosting the island’s cocoa produce.
The most unique of St Lucia hotels yet, the property instantly charmed the likes of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall who visited the hotel’s surrounding Rabot Estate and reinforced Britain’s compromise to promote sustainable development, environment
The chocolatey hotel also features the ‘Tree to Bar’ experience, providing the opportunity for guests to create their own chocolate. It begins with guests walking along the estate’s cocoa groves and ends with them making scrumptious chocolate bars. The tour includes a visit to the seedling nursery, fermenting room and sun-drying station, as well as grinding, mixing and lots of tasting! Participants are invited to graft their own cacao plant, which is labelled with their name and date of visit.
And for those wanting to branch out from the cacao, however, the property also has a spa, a pool overlooking the Pitons, a secret bar and casual dining. A daily shuttle service operates to Jalousie beach and theres 140 beautiful acres of land surrounding the property which, among other things, is a delight for hiking and bird watching.
The Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) has announced that the Eastern Mangroves complex in Abu Dhabi is on schedule and is expected to be fully operating by the end of 2012.
The new complex will feature a five-star hotel for tourists taking Abu Dhabi holidays, as well as a number of residential buildings and a 30-berth marina.
The TDIC is developing the complex and the first phrase the Eastern Mangroves Hotel and Spa by Anantara – is due to be completed in June. The residential buildings and the marina are scheduled for completion in the last quarter of this year.
The Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara is set against the citys eastern mangroves and has 222 spacious rooms and suites. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning, in-room entertainment systems, flat screen televisions, and Wi-Fi internet, as well as bathrooms with rainforest showers, bath tubs, and Anantara bathroom products.
The Director of Operations Middle East for Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas and the General Manager of Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara, Michel Koopman, explained: “This is really about the quality, not the quantity. It’s about positioning and the quality of the restaurants and the spa. For me, it’s a hotel for a pampering weekend. It’s not a hotel for big tours or big MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions] events. It’s not that.
“Our focus is on the quality of the experience and the long-term positioning of the hotel. Our focus is not to fill it up, but to make sure that we have the right clientele in.”
Facilities at the one of the newest Abu Dhabi hotels include the Pachaylen restaurant with Thai dishes; Ingredients, the all-day restaurant that offers international cuisine and two outdoor terraces; the two-level Mangroves Lounge where guests can relax and enjoy holidays in Abu Dhabi with a refreshing cocktail; and Impressions, the roof-top bar that offers comfortable sofas and views overlooking the city and mangroves.
During holidays to Abu Dhabi, guests can indulge in the Anantara Spa where they can enjoy a wide selection of signature Anantara treatments, a traditional Turkish hammam, steam and sauna facilities, and separate male and female areas.
The luxury Abu Dhabi hotel has an infinity pool and terrace, prayer rooms, a modern fitness centre, a business centre and Majlis, a ballroom, and a boutique shop.
One of the reasons boutique hotels are so popular is because they directly oppose the accepted hotel normality of hundreds of rooms and bland service. Their refusal to treat guests as anything other than honoured visitors means that they spend time, money and energy developing a hotel where you feel comfortable and at home. This can only really be achieved with low room numbers.
Hotels in this sector have discovered that travellers are willing to pay for accommodation that is different in design and where even full occupancy means they’re not queuing for breakfast or waiting for room service to answer the phones. Instead, fewer rooms means more space and better service, and an increasing number of travellers are taking this option.
Space is important to travellers, particularly those for whom the hotel is an integral part of the experience. Whilst other holiday makers or business travellers simply use a hotel as a base for sleeping and eating, boutique hotel guests want to feel that they can spend the morning drinking coffee and reading in the public areas without feeling like a nuisance, or relax by the pool without worrying about fighting for poolside space with other guests. By taking a definite decision to reduce the number of bedrooms so that each room has more space and by fashioning public areas that guests actually want to use, boutique hotels create a unique atmosphere that appeals to guests.
Boutique hotels are often based in older, traditional buildings where creating larger guest rooms means considerable changes to the internal design of the building. Sympathetic architectural changes can be achieved with careful planning and this allows hotel owners and their designers to maintain and incorporate original features into a more modern, spacious room design. From keeping original windows to fitting the most modern of bathrooms, clever design allows these hotels to provide fewer rooms, whilst at the same time preserving the essential features of the building.
The smaller the number of guests, the better the service can be. This is a concept that’s fully understood by the boutique industry and it strives to ensure that standards of service are exceptional. Any contact that the guest has with a member of staff should be a positive one and, in many cases, members of staff are trained to anticipate guests’ needs, ensuring that they are comfortable asking for anything, including help with activities outside the hotel as well as the facilities within it.
Lowering the number of rooms in a hotel, combined with good design, quality fittings and excellent service all combines to make a hotel unique and that’s what today’s travellers want.
Bataan is one of the most beautiful and fascinating provinces in the Philippines. Located at the central part of Luzon, this province is not only rich in picturesque landscapes, but also in customs, traditions, gastronomy and history. When visiting Bataan, however, there are few important steps you need to take. One of these things is booking for a comfortable place to stay while you are on a trip.
Fav Hotel: The Sole Transient and Boutique Hotel in Bataan
In Bataan there are several known establishments that offer transient lodging and accommodations, such as Fav Hotel. Located at the very heart of Bataan in the peaceful and beautiful city of Balanga, this transient hotel is like no other as far as first-rated amenities, good accommodation, perfect location and affordable prices are concerned.
Key Points of Fav Hotel
1.First-rated Amenities – Compared with other popular hotels and travel lodges in Bataan, Fav Hotel likewise offers spacious rooms with cozy ambiance to keep their clients’ stay as comfortable as possible. But not just that! They have also provided each room with individually controlled air conditioning, cabled TV, mini refrigerator and free Wi-Fi connection to keep their guests more relax and well-entertained.
2.Perfect Location – Another reason Fav Hotel becomes the best hotel in balanga is because of its location, which is just near the major establishments and roads in the city, such as Balanga Public Market. Because of this, guests can conveniently shop for some of the well-known products of Bataan.
3.Added Facilities – In addition to hotel accommodation, Fav offers additional services to make it more convenient for their guests to access everything they need, such as money changers, beauty salon and pizza parlor. All are located at the ground floor of the hotel.
4.Affordable Costs – Last but not the least thing you can expect from getting Fav Hotel reservations is good quality service at reasonable prices. So why settle on hotels offering high prices, when you can get the same level of service at a far more affordable cost?
So if you are planning to visit Bataan and searching for a place to stay, or perhaps looking for a transient lodging during late-night trips, then do not hesitate to book for a Fav Hotel room. There’s no better place than FaV!
Getting people to come to your hotel should be easy, but with the recession it’s more difficult than it was in the past. There are still just as many hotels, but there aren’t as many people taking holidays because of the cost. More and more people who do travel are taking staycations, where they remain very close to home, sometimes even in their own town. These can be beautiful and they can be a lot of fun, but as a hotel owner you need to remind people of that. You also need to pull in the people who come from other areas so that they will stay at your hotel instead of going to another one. One of the ways that you can advertise your hotel and all that you have to offer is by offering great deals and great specials to customers who have stayed with you before. By contacting them and asking if there is anything that you can offer them they might be enticed to come back to your hotel, especially if they had a good experience with you the first time. You can also increase the efforts that you make where public relations are concerned. Inviting a travel writer to stay overnight for free is a good way to get a good review, and that’s advertising that’s virtually free.
When you advertise, you want to be sure to let people know what sets your hotel apart. If you offer a great amenity that’s not that common, or is common but you offer it at a great price, let people know. If you have won awards or if you pride yourself on something specific, make sure you tell people. They want to know why they should spend their holidays with you, and you’ll need to tell them so that they can make their choice. You won’t win over everyone that way, but you’ll get a lot more business with a good advert than you’ll get with one that you didn’t put that much time into, so make the effort to let your advert really stand out. It’ll be worth the time and the money that you put into it.
What started in strictly resort areas is now branching out into all major metropolitan areas. Most of the larger worldwide hotel chains now sell condo hotel residence.
Much of the condo hotel market in the U. S. started in Florida. The residences there command 600,000-800,000 for a studio. I bedrooms start around $750,000. $1,000,000. 2 Bedrooms Start over the 1,000,000 price range.
These permanent residences feature all the furnishings and amenities of a luxury hotel such as world-class restaurants, 24-hour concierge, security, valet, housekeeping, and room service.
Joel Greene of the Condo Hotel Center says a rental option provided by the condo hotel management company allows owners to receive a portion often about 50 percent of the rental income of their specific unit when away.
Taylor says developers favor waterfront, mountainside, and downtown areas with strong demand for upscale lodging. Myrtle Beach, S.C.; South Florida; and Las Vegas have fast-growing condo-hotel markets that favor high-end travelers and boomers looking for a high-amenity pied–terre. Chicago, Washington D.C., and Phoenix are starting to get in on the condo hotel market, the most notable is the Trump Building in Chicago, studios are starting at $800,000.
Boomers are looking for a vacation lifestyle of spacious accommodations, dining activities, and entertainment, Taylor says. They demand extra services and luxurious amenities.
Heres how the Condo hotel concept works. You purchase a condo/hotel in a world class hotel. Use the residence whenever you like. When your away, put the residence in the hotels rental program and share the revenue with the hotel. The hotels management company takes care of all the management issues such as cleaning, renting and maintaining.
These residences offer the best of both worlds, a hassle free residence in a world class luxury hotel with rent revenue that you receive helps offset the costs of owing a 2nd or 3rd home. As well as the potential for appreciation.
