I have recently come back from what I can only describe as the most relaxing and interesting vacation I have ever been on. This year myself and my wife were looking at holiday options and based on a recommendation by some friends we thought that a trip to Ireland might give us a dose of culture and scenery. I had only ever heard good things about the country, so we started planing. We were informed that the best way to see the real Irish countryside was by boat, cruising on the river Shannon which runs through the center of the entire country. So we did our research and booked a cruiser from a little town called Banagher. We had never operated a boat before but we were given a brief class beforehand which made everything easy.
We booked the cruiser for three nights, we thought that this would allow us time to see the rest of the country and it did. The rest of the country was fantastic but the truth is I never wanted to leave that boat. The river is full of history covering three thousand years, the ruins of churches, abbeys, castles and towers are everywhere and free to explore. Not far from Banagher is the ruins of an ancient seventh century city which you can cruise right up to and walk around. It was all very extraordinary. You will never be cruising for long without meeting a lovely village and stopping in at a pub. One pub we visited was 350 years old and the old part of the bar was preserved from this time. Another small village had huge deserted stone buildings and military towers. A local told us this was in case Napoleon was to attack England by coming through Ireland. All of these structures still stand like ornaments on the landscape passed down through generations until there meaning has been eroded to just spectacular sites. Cruising by low lying green meadows to the sweet backing notes of wildlife all around really recharge my soul. As the famous Irish Poet Yeats said ‘Come with me oh Human Child, to the waters and the wild’ my natural human instincts for exploring, for the wild were satisfied and the scenic delights that crossed my eyes will never be forgotten. Until next year when I will return to the river Shannon.
There is a company called Discover the Shannon Link: which arrange holidays on the river and were really helpful with us.

Let us learn some advantages of staying in vacation rentals by owner. Vacations rentals by owners are usually private homes owned by their family and are rented temporarily. Vacation rentals by owner are a lot cheaper than the commercial hotels if you just want to rent out a place for week to three months. In a vacation rental by owner what you have is the amenities of a home. There is more privacy experienced in a vacation rental by owner because you are like living in your own home.
Family Atmosphere is present in vacation rentals privately owned. Most vacation rentals owned by owners have a family atmosphere, meaning the traditional old fashioned family ambience is present. Most vacation rentals privately owned are attached to main houses. There are common in Europe, and is becoming common in Asia. You can get invited to family dinners, and sometimes family gigs, if you allow them. This will depend on you.
Vacation rentals by owner are generally safer to stay than most commercial places, especially when you are staying in places like Asia in the rural areas. Scenic spots are fantastic, and yet you are not sure of the environment. Families tend to protect their guests. You have to check the environment by asking and reading on reports.
Nevertheless, vacation rentals by owner have a lot to offer you. In a hotel you can get a room that would cost you a different amount per each person staying in said room and be really crowded and just have a rather cramped, annoying vacation as opposed as to what you were planning on having in the first place. However, if you choose to rent a vacation home, you have a nicer, less crowded place to stay in. You don’t have to worry about who kicked you in your sleep or how you ended up on the floor with no covers like when you stay at a hotel. Nor do you have to fuss at the kids to stop hopping on the bed because they’re so anxious to move around from being stuck in one place for the last few hours.
You see, when you get vacation rentals by owner, you don’t have to worry about the kids and yourself being cooped up for hours on end in the same room-you have room to breath. Though most vacation rentals owned by owners are paid in deposit with one two months deposit, common globally, you can still get your deposited amount less other auxiliary expenses like laundry, housekeeping, food and parking fees. In some privately owned vacation rentals, the deposit is consumable; not refundable in cash. Likewise, if you need car rentals, do not hesitate to ask as most vacation rentals by owner have garage where you can park your car with a minimal fee.

Wreaths are used since ages, examples are the ancient Rome and ancient Greece used wreaths as a headdress for the Olympic prizes, battle or military heroes, emperors and so on. It is also said that in ancient times, Romans used wreaths as a victory sign as well. Let us make a distinction here between different types of wreaths used in the past as we have some historical facts before us. In past the laurel wreaths were meant for athletes and the wreaths made of olive branches were used for military or battle heroes. The Christmas wreaths symbolize how life overcome the forces of winter. Wreaths are also used as symbol of welcome to all guests. Wreaths are mostly in circular shape without having the starting or ending point. Due to its unique design, these are considered as the symbol of faith and also represent the mercy and eternity of God during the Christmas Eve. Different colors used in wreath or the leaves represent different things. For instance, the evergreen leaves and branches in the wreath symbolize the everlasting life and the love of God. On the other hand, the green color also signifies the new life and hope and sometimes also peace.
In past, the Christmas wreaths were made of plants which were capable of maintaining their green shades throughout the entire year. Those wreaths were usually made of pine, holly and ivy. The purpose behind those wreaths was to show that the life is everlasting and the greenness of the leaves in the winter season truly symbolizes this fact.
Most of the people around the world relate the holiday wreaths to the Christmas wreaths. But in fact, there are certain other kinds of wreaths also. An important thing here to mention is that wreaths never have any special connection to any particular religion. This is a common thought of many of the people that wreaths are meant to be in connection with some specific religion. Nowadays, wreaths are made from plastic, artificial flowers and fresh flowers along with other leaves, berries and branches. Many people used them as a decoration on their doors, windows, fireplaces and even on tables.
These are now made almost the whole year and not confined to the winter season. No matter what is the purpose behind using these wreaths, they are surely a great way to express one feeling either by using it as a decoration or giving it as a gift on special events.
